Marian Rivera is My Lady Boss

“Actually, ‘pag nag-roll ang camera hindi na ako si Marian Rivera, ako na si Evelyn,” quipped Marian. “As Evelyn, inenjoy ko si Zack (Richard’s character),” she continued.
As much as possible, Marian avoids doing very intimate kissing scenes with his leading men in TV series and films and she does not easily agree to doing bed scenes unless the story really calls for it.
“Malaki ang tiwala ko kay Chard (Richard). Besides, ever since naman na nagkatrabaho kami hindi naman siya nag-take advantage sa akin at siya mismo ‘yong umaalalay sa akin e,” shared the actress.
She clarified, however, that in her seven years in the business, she has not experienced being taken advantage of by any of her previous leading men.
“Siguro ‘yon ‘yong isa sa dahilan kung bakit proud ako sa sarili ko kasi kahit sino ang naka-eksena ko, never kong naramdaman na hindi ako nirespeto,” she said.
It is not Marian’s first time to work in a movie with Richard. In fact, their first movie team up was in the romantic-comedy film “My Best Friend’s Girlfriend (My BFGF),” which was released almost five years ago (2008).
Marian says a lot has changed between her working relationship with Richard during the “My BFGF” days and now in “My Lady Boss.”
Masarap siyang kasama.
Although Marian and Richard are both in a relationship, they still manage to be convincingly sweet on-cam. Marian spills the beans.
“Siguro kasi mas lumalim na ‘yong samahan naming dalawa. Akala ko kasi since after the ‘My BFGF’ ay hindi na kami ulit nagkasama sa soap opera o sa isang pelikula magkakaroon na kahit papaano ng ‘wall’ o magkakahiyaan pero unexpectedly, nagkaroon pa kami ng mas matinding bonding, mas lumalim pa yun samahan namin, mas nakilala pa namin ang isa’t isa,” she explained.
Unlike “My BFGF,” “My Lady Boss” promises to be “sexier,” “wilder” and more “intense” without of course dropping the comedy portion. In fact, apart from the very passionate kissing scene, Marian and Richard also have several bed scenes in the movie.
“Kasi sa ‘My BFGF’ bakya talaga ‘yong character ko dun e, dito kasi hindi. So first time ko sa isang pelikula na magiging maldita ako, at lalambot, at maiinlove at migiging ‘wild’ sa huli,” Marian revealed. “Medyo kakaiba ito para sa akin. Siguro it’s about time na i-open ko na ‘yong pinto ko para sa ganitong klaseng eksena (laughs).”
”My Lady Boss” is a joint production of GMA Films and Regal Films and is directed by Jade Castro. It will hit nationwide theatres soon.

Sofia Andres feels lucky in Princess and I

Currently playing the role of Mikay’s younger sister Dindi Maghirang in the number one Primetime Bida series Princess and I, Sofia Andres admitted she feels very lucky to have become part of such a successful project, especially since this is also her first television series. “I’m really blessed na makasama kami dito sa Princess and I.

Ito yung first ko na teleserye.
The 14-year-old model-turned-actress is currently a high school sophomore who wants to continue her career in acting. “Nung three years old ako, nag-commercial ako tapos nagtuloy-tuloy na yung commercials ko tapos print ads sa magazines. Nag-start na dun yung audition ko sa Star Magic tapos tuloy-tuloy na,” she said.
Now that her onscreen pairing with Princess and I co-star Khalil Ramos is gaining more and more fans, Sofia said she is happy that people support them. “Siyempre masayang-masaya ako dahil ngayon ko lang talaga na-experience itong gumawa ng teleserye with Khalil, Quen (Enrique Gil), Kathryn (Bernardo), and DJ (Daniel Padilla). Talagang I’m so blessed. Parang ang saya-saya ko talaga. Ito yung dream ko. Masayang-masaya ako dahil nag-click agad and effective naman yung love team namin so parang nakaka-shock na dumadami yung followers, ng mga fans ng SofLil, KinDi. Nakakagulat din talaga,” she admitted.
Sofia said Khalil has also been very helpful to her during their scenes together. “Okay naman mabait naman siya, pogi rin naman (laughs). Okay siya, tumutulong siya, sinusuportahan niya ako pag may something na scene na hindi ako maka-connect sa kanya, tumutulong naman siya. Mabait siya talaga,” she admitted.
Sofia said that even though they are both newcomers in acting, Khalil has done a lot in lessening her nervousness on the set. “Oo naman, nakatulong siya siyempre. As in may scene kami na yayakapin ko siya, ganyan. Eh parang naiilang ako, so sasabihin niya, ‘Sofia higpitan mo pa, okay lang sa akin.’ (laughs). Parang ako nahiya ako kasi sa scene na yun. Sumu-support talaga siya sa akin,” she shared.
Sofia admitted that it doesn’t hurt that she finds the singer-actor attractive as well. “First impression ko sa kanya suplado siya (laugh). Tahimik siya eh. Parang wala kaming kibuan, ganun. Kaya wala pa masyadong bonding. Ngayon meron naman konti. Nag-uusap naman kami ng konti, okay lang. Ang attractive kasi sa kanya yung eyes niya, yun. Actually hindi ko alam na from Pilipinas Got Talent pala siya, sikat pala ito, ganun. Dito ko lang nalaman na from PGT siya,” she revealed.
When asked what personality trait she likes most about Khalil, Sofia immediately answered, “Yung ugali niya na lagi siyang nagpapatawa. Lagi siyang naka-wacky face. Ewan ko bakit ganun siya, ang weird niya talaga (laughs). Tahimik siya pero may sometimes siya (laughs). Hindi pa naman kami ganun ka-close. Papunta na dun (laughs).” source: http://push.abs-cbn.com

Richard Quan, from actor to passion

The passion that drives Richard Quan

The dictionary defines passion as an intense desire or enthusiasm for something. This is the force that drives character actor Richard Quan. Since his first appearance as the other man in the Reyna Films’ classic Saan Ka Man Naroon? that starred the phenomenal love team of Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, Quan, continues his love affair with show business, with this burning passion that fuels him to offer the finest in all the roles he portrays.

Film aficionados were most impressed with his performance as the tahong vendor father of JM de Guzman, in the Cinemalaya 2012 favorite Intoy Siyokoy.

Quan’s remarkable moment – caught his wife playing fire with another, he backed away quietly from the on-going transgression, crushed and disillusioned, this accidental discovery led to his plummet, a most tragic death that left his son Intoy orphaned.

This July, Richard is part of another Cinemalaya entry, “The Liars,” written by Senedy Que with multi-awarded film master Gil Portes as director.

The film is based on a real-life sports scandal that presents the incredible rise and the humiliating fall of an unprivileged Filipino baseball team of young boys in an international baseball competition in the 1990s.
“I play one of the fathers of the kids na part of the team who has no conscience,” Quan speaks of his role. “Wala siyang pakialam sa mga consequences of his actions. All he wanted was the glory and the fame, and of course, the money that comes with it.”

“When the offered it to me, I was immediately attracted to the character because portraying a person who, as they say, belongs to the dark side is always challenging,” the actor quips. “Pag kinaiinisan at bwisit na bwisit ang mga audiences with my portrayal, it feels good. It is more fun and fulfilling, honestly.”
Richard adds, “I am very choosy with the films that I do, I always want them to say something, to impart lessons or at least, make people think, reflect. Dapat they inspire people to change.”

Other cast members are Jan Harley Hicana, Jim Rocky Tangco, John Michael Bonapos as the kids, with Alessandra de Rossi, Cris Villanueva, Victor Basa, and Arnold Reyes.

Another very important project that he involved with is “Ang Sugo,” the bio-film about Ka Felix Manalo, the founder and patriarch of Iglesia ni Cristo.

“It is work and a very big responsibility, that is how I see this project,” Richard states with a smile “I am very proud of this film.”

Carrying on, “The whole process of creating a film, there is really no sure formula, kahit may ganoon ka kagandang script, mahusay anf artistic and production staff mo, the outcome, naiiba pa rin. So, I’m hoping lang na everything will fall into place at magiging one of the best if not the best ang movie ito, and that the public, watches it.”

Richard ends. “In the nearest future I plan to produce. Whether it is a TCV show or a film, my motivation is, it’s not na pagkakakitaan ko lang siya but because, it is socially relevant, it is saying something. It is challenging the status quo. Dapat from the script pa lang, it will stir the passion. Up to this day, that passion in me, is my guide, it drives me to be part of good films and TV projects ”

“Liars,” under the direction of Gil Portes, is part of CINEMALAYA 2013, July 26 to August 4, 2013 in CCP theaters, Trinoma, Greenbelt, and Alabang Town Center Cinemas.
